Morgan Hoffman is a Hudson Valley native who lived and worked in NYC for nearly 10 years. Immersed in the bustling and creative energy of the city, she designed, developed and wholesaled her unique fashion line, GIRLBOY. After several seasons, Morgan felt a strong desire to return to her roots upstate and launch her first retail shop. She found the perfect location and opened GIRLBOY in the Stockade District in Kingston at the end of 2023.

Morgan has always admired strong feminist icons who possess an effortless, androgynous style, and she recreates these legendary looks in her evocative polaroid homages. The ongoing inspiration for GIRLBOY comes from muses of the ages, including Louise Brooks in the 1920s, Katharine Hepburn in the 1940s, and Diane Keaton in the late 1970s. “These are all women who played with gender roles and broke barriers when it came to style” explains Morgan. “They are fierce, timeless, and have been inspirational to women for decades. Anyone can incorporate elements of these iconic styles into their own personal look.”

With this in mind, Morgan’s GIRLBOY philosophy celebrates the easy elegance of classics-with-a-modern twist with an emphasis on effortlessly chic looks from the influential 1960s and 1970s. Being your own muse…that’s the guiding light for the brand.”
