The Brand

GIRLBOY founder Morgan Hoffman has long been drawn to feminist icons who challenged convention, played with gender roles, and redefined style. The references span generations: 1920s silent film star Louise Brooks, Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn, Diane Keaton, Sade, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.
“For decades, women have been inspired by the codes these icons established. I wanted to distill that into something modern, wearable, and refined.”
After launching the brand in New York City, Morgan—a Hudson Valley native—returned to her roots to open the GIRLBOY store in Kingston’s historic Stockade District, creating a physical space where the brand’s point of view could be fully experienced. The collection sits alongside brands that share a commitment to quality, sustainability, and timeless design.
At its core, GIRLBOY explores the intersection of feminine and masculine, grounded in the discipline of classic menswear and shaped for the female form. Clean lines and confident proportions result in pieces that are structured yet fluid, designed to become part of a permanent wardrobe—the ones you reach for again and again.
We look to the women who came before, not for what they wore, but for how they wore it. A way of dressing that felt entirely their own. We believe in the clarity that comes from knowing what works, in structure over spectacle, and in design with intention.
